Scrap Fx Blog Hop

Hello Rachelle here, welcome to my Blog!!! 


When: Starts Friday 9am Feb 22 Australian Time & runs until midnight Monday Feb 25th.This is a Technique Blog Hop using some of Scrap Fx's amazing chipboard, so you should find some inspiration along the way,plus have a chance to win some awesome prizes!!!!

Here is a LO I did for the Blog Hop using a few different techniques...


Scrap Fx chipboard is very high quality,so you can use it in many different ways.These are the piece's of chipboard I used on this LO: Gates Large(2008242),Wordlet ,Remember the Time(2012359),Wheels & Rods (2011057),Clock Hand Antique(200831),cog(2007184)Butterfly Circle Large(2008131) (I only used the butterflies,I used the circle on another LO).Here are some closeups of detail.....

I first applied walnut stain on the gate,then rock candy crackle,then when that dried I rubbed in a few different colors of chalk,to give it the aged look & to reduce the shine.On the wordlet & wheels I rubbed in a light brown & dark brown chalk then inked the edges.....
I used the rod part of the wheels & rods on both the upper right  & lower left corners,used chalk, inked the edges then attached chains with brads......
I used white picket crackle then inked the edges on the antique clock hand....
I dipped the butterfly in warm water,so it was wet,then very gently separated  the chipboard so you get 3 layers.I then applied liquid pearl bisque,inked the edges brown,then added some pearls....

    First of all how FABULOUS is that pink corrugated paper??? I LOVE how you ripped it- HUGE graphic punch from that! I also think your water layered butterfly is a touch of pure genius! I will be trying that on my next LO! The page is beautiful as always- wow I had no idea so much work went into making the gates look weathered! The final look is totally worth the effort!

    Hi Rachelle! Well , I saw your layouts already and love them as always! You inspire me especially with your boy layouts, but I am to messy to ever make something like that, and I cant sew, dont have a machine aswell(oh I hate those machines). So, I just look at your stunning layouts and then make my messy things-lol- Bye bye~!

    This is one breathtaking layout. I could look at it, and come back and look at it again and again and each time find another detail that I missed the previous time. Stunning! And why have I not seen that gate? I need that gate!
