I used the beautiful Vintage Summer Basic Collection....
On all the chipboard I either used picket fence crackle or bisque liquid pearls. When the crackle dried, I rubbed in some dark brown chalk to bring out the cracks & once the liquid pearls dried I applied a bit of mocha rose LuminArte.....
After watching Gabi's Tut, I also stopped off at the hardware store & bought some drywall tape,& wall repair patches. I used the patch to create texture.......
I used a couple stencils from crafters workshop, added some lace, seed beads & pearls.........
I did not place my photo or the rest of the embellishments until after I painted on the water downed gesso & sprayed on Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Old Lace....
I then placed the photo,& embellished. I made the flower out of tulle & cheesecloth that I had dyed with the old lace TA,& using part of a old piece of jewelry of my mothers. Once I glued down the flower I added the ribbon & pearls....
I added a couple metal pieces,from prima....
Here is my 2nd canvas " Way to go Girl", Renee is my youngest son's girlfriend & just received her acceptance letter to go into Law. I am so happy for her,she is beautiful inside, out. I took the photo of Renee in my garden.........
I used 2 collection's on this canvas, I love how you can mix the Maja Collections....
From the Sofiere Collection I used: Princess Margareta's Garden-BS, Strolling down the Rose path, & Strolling down the Rose path-BS
From the Vintage Summer Basics Collection,I used: 1891,1899, & 1932 -BS. The chipboard used is from Scrap Fx. Here are some close ups of detail.....
I started this canvas by first using a stencil & molding paste on all the outside edges of the canvas. I shrunk Renee's letter of acceptance& used it on her canvas....
I then did my distressed stitched layers on my main background piece, then glued that onto the canvas...
I added some wall repair tape, did some stencil work, using molding paste, & lace on to the background piece. I let that dry, then I painted the canvas with watered down gesso, that I had also mixed in a bit of perfect pearls, perfect pearl to give it a bit of shimmer & not to lose the beautiful paper....
I then placed my photo,& embellished....
On all of the lighter pieces of chipboard I used picket fence crackle,& rubbed in a dark brown chalk once the crackle dried. On the dark pieces I first used walnut stain, then black gold tattered angels & when that dried I rubbed on some Viva Inka Gold Metallic Rub. On the feather I used Studio traditional tan acrylic paint, then rock candy crackle & when that dried I rubbed in some dark brown chalk..........
Here is a little tut I did on the flower I made for Renee's canvas,by just playing around with some of my lace, tulle, cheesecloth a old ear ring of my mothers & pearls....
I started with a small chipboard circle. I cut the lace as shown in the photo above........
I then glued 3 pieces of the lace to the chipboard using a glue gun..........
I then cut 4 strips of cheesecloth, that I had dyed with a tattered angels glimmer mist......
I then glued on 3 more pieces of lace...............
Glued on the ear ring & pearls. These are fun to make, so I will be making more from my stash of lace....
